Event Planning + Event Design duo, Michelle and Kate, joined creative forces in 2014 to open Bloom Events. Bloom specializes in planning and design for weddings, corporate events and social gatherings.

They work closely with clients to understand their values, passions and inspirations and incorporate them into their events. Bloom's favorite part of planning is watching the finer points come together and seeing their client’s face light up when they see their dream has come to life.

Michelle and Kate feel they are in the best business; watching love blossom, capturing moments, bringing people together and building lasting relationships.

Q: Event Confession?

A: I get misty eyed every time I send a bride down the isle! It is such a special moment watching the bride and groom come together.

Q: What is your weakness?

A: Popcorn and Dark Chocolate. I have no self-control.

Kate Baker

Co-owner & Lead Planner

Kate graduated from Luther College with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. After living in Red Lodge, Montana for a year she found her first ‘real’ job as the coordinator at a studio in Minneapolis. Since then, Kate has been the voiceover agent at Moore Creative Talent and loves working with all the different types of people that she comes in contact with.

Kate has always been organized but these two jobs have enhanced those skills tremendously. She loves new notebooks, electronics, post-its and pens. Everything she does has a spreadsheet.

Q: What is the strength you bring to Bloom?

A: I have worked with so many different types of people that my problem solving skills are top notch.  Life is too short and events are too much fun to worry about the little things so let me do that for you.

Q: What is your weakness?

A: Animals. Any and all animals. My husband says I’m not allowed at the Humane Society, pet store or on Craigslist because we will end up with a zoo at our home. I personally don’t see anything wrong with that. Oh, and bluegrass. I love bluegrass.
